Here is another story of Jesus offending others, this time it is forgiving sin! How easy it seems to be to miss the point by focusing on the wrong details. The miraculous healing of the paralytic man seems almost unremarkable to the people present. And how many of us reading the story now miss the fact that Jesus is moved not by the faith of the paralyzed man, but by the faith of his friends?
